More Lilac

So far so good. True to my lilac resolution I present you my Lilac and Lychees piece. As usual 8''x8'' size but this time in oil. The water jar proved to be the biggest challenge. I can understand why, beacuse usually that is the most enjoyable part of the painting for me. I love painting water, glass and other transparencies.

Heavenly lilac

Ah, my room is filled with the fragrance of this humble lilac bouquet. In the morning today I have painted this brisk study in watercolour. It wasn't easy but I am fairly pleased with the outcome. I have given myself a resolution to paint as much lilac this spring as I possibly can because it is one of my favourite flowers.

Spring Blossoms

Today's painting is one of my more ambitious projects, mainly because it is bigger in size - 16'' x 16'' or 40 x 40 cm. The bigger size takes longer to paint and the flowers won't stay fresh for long. Nevertheless I have finished this painting today and the flowers just barely made it so I am pleased with the outcome. This painting is going to be one of the lot I am showing at the next exhibition of my local art group which is due to happen very soon, this coming May Bank holiday, in fact. I am feeling really pressed for time now because my daughter's Easter holidays are still in the full swing and I can't do much in terms of painting while she is at home.

Birman cats again

Just finished this version of my older painting for a friend whose sister happened to be an owner of three! Birmans. Hope she will like it.
