Winchelsea beach
Just returned from a spontaneous seaside trip. Been all through Kent in one day and a half. Spent a night in the village of Winchelsea. We came to the beach when the sun was kissing us good night. It was the end of a long day of driving and a sudden expanse of sea before my eyes felt overwhelming. Hope I managed to catch the atmosphere.

Landmark's Midsummer Art Show
Didn't do much this week end because of the Midsummer Art Show. It was a great experience for me. I had a small box (could have been bigger but then again I would have to pay more), very nicely located for a change. The Landmark Arts centre is almost on my door step so I could show there all my local views which were very kindly received. Put myself on the waiting list for their autumn show and will definitely apply for the next year. Here's another pic of my box.

Lady in Pink Kimono
Wanted to post this portrait here for a little while. This was done at a painting session of the Twickenham Art Circle. I'm fairly pleased with it.

Sacre Coeur
Today had a very busy day. Went to the Ham Art Group in the morning where painted this little sketch. Had a commission from the local Health Centre confirmed. Should start painting very soon after clarifying some technical details.
Will be applying for the Royal Academy Summer show this year. Just got the forms. Have to post them tomorrow to arrive before the dead-line.
Had a first painting lesson with two Russian speaking children. An enjoyable hour of colour fun. My daughter had a lesson of piano in exchange. So far it works well.

Greeting Cards
Recently I have been contacted by the tourist board of our borough. They want to offer their clients a range of my cards with local views. Now I am busy making them. Got a new printer yesterday. Epson with 6 ink heads. I'm thrilled with the results so far. Quality of prints is outstanding.
Another project on my agenda is a big commission from a local health centre. I am to create a calming local scene with the river Thames, boats and maybe some people in it. Here is one of the sketches I have made today in preparation for it.

I'm back
Oh, dear, my last post was a while ago. Obviously a few things happened during those two months. The New Year had begun for a start. And for me it brought quite a lot of computer work - web design commission. Hence no marked productivity on the painting front. Nevertheless my art career is moving forward, it seems. Back in January I had been asked to demonstrate to one of the local art societies - Twickenham Art Circle - which I did and very much enjoyed myself. The audience reacted extremely well which is hugely encouraging. Here is a picture of me in the process of demonstrating.
Over the past two month I was taking part in the Landmark Show - an exhibition put up by the Landmark Art Centre in Teddington. Lots of local artists took part. It will be taken down this coming Sunday. I am very pleased that one of my paintings has been sold.
My next exhibiting venture will be at Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey. It opens on 8 March and will run for a week until 14 March. I will be exhibiting with Thames Valley Art Club. My painting is printed on the invitations, which is nice.
