To Play or Not To Play

watercolour, 23 x 31 cm

I started this one about a week ago but wasn't happy with the backgound - it was too plain so made it more interesting today.

This is gouache. I have bought a set of gouache paints on the spur of the moment recently. It felt a bit like the home coming when I was painting this picture. It's more then 15 years since I painted my last gouache back in the university. Gosh, it felt good! Didn't realise what a way I had come in those years! Will do more of this soon.

Thames from the Richmond Bridge

Richmond bridge is in the heart of Richmond-upon-Thames and offers some exceptional views on Thames in both directions. This view is of the floating restaurant. It is fiddly to paint but I like the outcome so I think it was worth sweating over it.

The end of winter hybernation

Nature is reawakening and I feel the creative juices stirring again. Here is the first painting of the Spring 2009 season ))) It is still in withering colour which I love to much to let go but the next one coming up will be very bright and Easterly.

Cat with a Christmas Bobble

I have been ill for the past week and a half... and still am to be honest. Caught a flu. The recovery is never quick with me. Especially sine my daughter id having it too. But life doesn't wait and Christmas is approaching fast and the Christmas spirit is setting upon us together with the flu epidemic, as usual! So today I have produced this little watercolour with a bit of a festive flare to it.
